The short answer

To sell on Vinted, download the app, photograph an item in daylight, add a title, description and price, and tap Upload. Listing is free and Vinted charges sellers no selling fee. When it sells, print the prepaid label, pack the item and drop it off within 5 days, and you're paid once the buyer confirms everything is OK.

Selling on Vinted is easier than it looks. You photograph something, write a few lines, set a price and wait for a message. Most of the difference between a quick first sale and a month of silence comes down to a handful of choices you make before you tap Upload.

This is the whole process in order.

What to sell first

Pick items that are easy to describe and easy to trust:

  • Branded clothes in good condition. People search by brand, so these get found.
  • Things you know the size of. Size is one of the first filters buyers use.
  • Anything with the label and flaws easy to show. Fewer questions means faster sales.

Leave awkward, stained or unlabelled items for later. Your first few sales teach you what buyers ask, and easy items are the best teachers.

Take photos buyers can trust

The cover photo does most of the work, because it's the only picture people see while scrolling.

  • Shoot next to a window in daylight, with the flash off.
  • Lay the item flat on a plain light floor or hang it against a plain wall.
  • Fill the frame with the whole item, front on.
  • Add the back, the label, the size tag and any flaw as extra photos.

Write a title and description that match searches

Buyers type words like "zara linen blazer cream size 10", so put those words in your title: brand, item, key detail, size. Use the Vinted title formula.

For the description, say the condition, the size and fit, measurements, fabric and any flaws, and stop there. Here's a template you can copy.

Set a price you'd be happy with

Search for the same item and look at what has sold, not what's listed. Then decide how quickly you want it gone: at or just under the cheapest similar item for a fast sale, in the middle of the sold range for a normal pace. The steps are in how to price items on Vinted.

Remember the buyer pays a Vinted fee on top of your price, plus postage, so keep the total sensible next to similar listings.

Tap Upload

Fill in the category, brand, size, condition and colour as well as the title. Buyers filter by these, and an empty box hides you from everyone using that filter. Once you tap Upload, the listing is live.

What happens when it sells

  1. You get a message that it's sold. Check the buyer's details and the item.
  2. Print the prepaid shipping label. Pack the item so it can't open or get damaged in transit.
  3. Drop it off within 5 days. Vinted's guidance is to take it to the drop-off point within five days.
  4. The buyer checks it. Buyers have 2 days after delivery to report a problem.
  5. You're paid. Vinted pays you as soon as the buyer confirms everything is OK.

Selling is free, so what you earn is yours to keep.

Reply fast and keep it on Vinted

Answer questions within the hour if you can. A buyer who's waiting is looking at three other listings. Keep the sale on Vinted too, because sales outside the app lose protection for both of you.

If it doesn't sell

Look at the numbers on the listing before you change anything. Few views means a title or category problem. Views but no favourites means the photo or price. The fix for each is in why your Vinted items aren't selling.

Save time on every listing after the first

The first listing is slow because you're learning. After that, the typing and photo editing are the part worth cutting. FlipFast writes the title, description, price and hashtags from a photo, and can smooth creases and swap a messy background for a clean one, so a batch of items takes a few taps each instead of ten minutes each. Quick answers

Yes. Vinted says listing is free and there are zero selling fees, so what you earn is yours to keep. Buyers pay a Vinted fee at checkout on top of your price.
