How to write a Vinted description that sells
A good Vinted description is short and boring in the best way: condition, size, measurements, fabric, flaws. Here's a template you can copy.

The short answer
Keep it short and factual: what the item is and its condition, the size and how it fits, flat measurements, fabric from the care label, and any flaws with where they are. Match the condition to Vinted's labels and cut any line that doesn't help a buyer decide.

On this page
Most buyers read the description for one reason: to check there's nothing that would stop them buying. Your job is to answer their questions before they have to ask. Nobody needs a story about where you bought it.
What to include, in this order
- What it is and the condition. “Levi's 501 jeans in mid wash, very good condition, worn a handful of times.”
- Size and how it fits. The label size, plus whether it runs big, small or true to size.
- Measurements. Pit to pit and length for tops, waist and inside leg for trousers. Measure flat. This saves more back-and-forth than anything else.
- Fabric. Copy it from the care label. “100% cotton” or “80% wool” helps people looking for natural fibres.
- Flaws. Small mark on the cuff, slight bobbling under the arms. Say where it is and point to the photo.
- Anything else that matters. Smoke-free home, original tags, comes with the belt.
That's the whole description. If a line doesn't help someone decide, cut it.
A template you can copy
Zara oversized wool-blend coat in camel. Very good condition, worn one winter. Size M, oversized fit, would suit a 10 to 14. Pit to pit 62cm, length 104cm. 60% wool, 40% polyester. Tiny mark inside the left pocket (last photo). No other flaws. Bundle discounts available.
Match the condition to Vinted's labels
Vinted gives you set condition options, from new with tags down to satisfactory. Pick the honest one, then back it up in the text. “Very good” with a visible stain is how you end up refunding someone. Being slightly harsh on your own items builds trust and good reviews.
Use the words buyers use
Describe the item the way someone would search for it: the style (cropped, wide leg, oversized), the occasion (wedding guest, workwear) and the material. It helps buyers recognise what they're after at a glance. Write the words naturally into the sentence rather than pasting a list, and put the most important ones in the title, where they count most.
What to leave out
- Long stories about why you're selling.
- “No offers”, “no timewasters” and shouty capitals. They put people off and don't stop lowballers.
- Swaps and off-app payment. Sales outside Vinted lose Buyer Protection for the buyer and protection for you.
Doing twenty of these in a row
Writing one description is easy. Writing twenty on a Sunday night is where people give up, and the last ten listings end up as “nice top, size 10”.
That's the gap FlipFast fills. Photograph the item and it drafts the title, description, condition, colours, price and hashtags for you, in the same structure as above. You add measurements or fix anything it got wrong, then copy it into Vinted. You can also save the lines you type on every listing, like postage or bundle discounts, and drop them in with one tap.
Quick answers
Three to six short lines is usually enough. Lead with what the item is and its condition, then size and measurements, then fabric and any flaws.
